HVAC System Design by Using Geothermal Heat Pump

A design of a geothermal heat pump heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system has been done for XYZ Indianapolis School by using renewable energy. Geothermal energy is one of the important energies that has proved itself in air conditioning systems all over the world. The design was classified in three points as follows. Using borehole heat exchanger (BHEs) vertical type, heat pump and all its equipment such as mechanical room, pipes, and fitting design to cover the total load of the school the results were 20 boreholes and a total flow rate of 60 gpm (3 gpm/bore) of 20 % propylene solution, and spacing 20 ft with 1.1 Hp and 6.5 in impeller size. For individual borehole design, the results were 15 boreholes and a total power consumption 1.1 kW. For the ventilation design, the peak load for heating is 42779 Btu/hr, and for cooling, it is 47779 Btu/hr. There are 4 boreholes, a 0.5 hp electric pump with a flow rate of 10 gpm a 40ft of H2O pressure drop, and a 10 hp fan integrated with a water-to-water heat pump. The total load we assumed for the heating supply in class 6 and the corridor are 10% and 25 %, respectively. The thermal resistance was calculated for each case according to the fluid flow rate. The ventilation load of the school is designed separately from the heating and cooling loads and connected to a water-water heat pump that will make the system work with high efficiency. Finally, we designed this project using Geothermal Energy, which is cleaner than conventional energy.

Libyan University Students’ Attitudes towards Using Podcasts and Audio-books for Learning English

Abstract

This research explores Libyan university students' perceptions of the use of podcasts and audio books as tools for learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Employing a quantitative research method, data were collected online through questionnaires distributed to third-year students of English in three Libyan Universities. The study involved a sample of 76 students and aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, flexibility, and motivational factors associated with these audio tools.

The results indicated that podcasts and audiobooks significantly enhance EFL learners' speaking skills, familiarize them with the cultural and social contexts of the English language, and encourage continuous learning outside the classroom. A substantial majority of participants found these tools easy to navigate and valued their free accessibility. Additionally, the flexibility of being able to listen at their convenience was highly appreciated, supporting learner autonomy and engagement.

The study's findings underscore the potential of integrating podcasts and audiobooks into the EFL curriculum, highlighting their role in fostering independent learning and improving overall language proficiency. The research offers valuable insights for EFL instructors and curriculum developers, recommending the inclusion of these tools as part of the formal education syllabus to enhance the language learning experience.

تقدير تركيز عنصر الرصاص والكادميوم في بعض الأغذية المعلبة في مدينة الأصابعة

في السنوات الأخيرة زاد الإهتمام بدارسة تلوث الأغذية بالعناصر الثقيلة لأنها تسبب العديد من الأمراض مثل الأمراض الرئوية والنفسية والإضطرابات الهرمونية والأمراض التناسلية في هذه الدراسة تم تقدير (الرصاص و الكادميوم ) في 10 أنواع من المعلبات (حمص ، بازلاء ، فاصولياء بيضاء ، فول ، فطر ، ذرة ، معجون طماطم ، مخلل مشكل ،فواكه مشكله و كاتشب ) الشائعة في الأسواق المحلية بمدينة الأصابعة بإستخدام مطيافية الإمتصاص الذري (AAS) وجد أن تركيز الكادميوم  (0.001 >,0.08 ppm ) وهي ضمن الحدود المسموح بها من منظمة الصحة العالمية بينما كان تركيز الرصاص أعلى من الحدود المسموح بها في أغلب العينات المدروسة كالفطر (1.78, 2.21 ppm) والبازلاء (1.49ppm) وأيضا الحمص والفول ومعجون الطماطم مابين (0.15 , 0.63 ppm) .

Abstract

Makrofol-DE 1-1 CC Polycarbonate is a class of polymeric solid state nuclear track detector which has many applications in various radiation detection fields.

Structural property studies using X-ray diffraction were performed on the non-irradiated and irradiated Makrofol samples. The intensities of the characteristic absorption bands were found to decrease predominantly with increasing the proton fluence in the ranges 0-5x1011 ions/cm2 indicating that the degradation is the dominant mechanism.

Non isothermal studies were carried out using thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermo-gravimetric (DTG) to obtain information concerning the thermal stability for Makrofol detector. The obtained TGA thermograms indicated that the Makrofol detector decomposes in one main weight loss stage.

Using the TGA curves, both the onset temperature of decomposition and the activation energy of thermal decomposition were calculated. The results indicated that the proton irradiation of Makrofol detector in the fluence range 0-5x1011 ions/cm2 causes an initial scission that reduces the thermal stability of the Makrofol samples. The proton irradiation in the fluence range 5x1011-1x1015 ions/cm2 led to a more compact structure of Makrofol polymer, which resulted in an improvement in its thermal stability with an increase in the activation energy of thermal decomposition.

A business plan which is a formal writing and statement that describing new or existing business goals always helps organizations or investor to set the task that need to be performed in order to invest properly by potential investors to the entrepreneurs. It helps businesses who are seeking investment and convey their business visions to potential investors and customers. Further, it can be also used to attract employees and supplier in order to simply understand how the company in future can be managed efficiently. Simply a business plan covers all important set goals, mission, vision, and all the strategies that a company will use to meet them and if potential problem that may confront the business and the ways to handle them. The purpose of this research is to provide enough resources for business plan to develop a web store using e-commerce technology by using SellerDeck software solution and making a competing company where customer can easily purchase their favourite brand of mobile phones, tablet computers and its accessories. At the end of this research the results is that the ecommerce technology will increase all over the world because of making it easier for the enterprise business and customers for shopping information and view the contents of web store products and payment system.

اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة وعلاقته ببعض المتغيرات لدى الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة

    هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة لدى الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة، وكذلك التعرف على ما إذا كانت هناك فروق بين المتزوجين وغير المتزوجين من طلبة كلية التربية الناجين من إعصار دانيال في اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة، وكذلك التعرف على الفروق بين الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة حسب متغير (الفقد ـ السنة الدراسية) في اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة، في العام الجامعي 2023/2024م، وبلغت عينة الدراسة 170 طالب وطالبة وتم استخدام مقياس اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة إعداد الباحثة، حيث توصلت النتائج إلى أن اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة كان مرتفعاً لدى الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة، وكذلك عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المتزوجين وغير المتزوجين من الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة في اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة، وكذلك وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة لدى الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة حسب متغير الفقد وكانت الفروق لصالح الطلبة الذين فقدوا أشخاص من أهلهم، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لدى الطلبة الناجين من إعصار دانيال بكلية التربية درنة حسب متغير السنة الدراسية.

Negative Impact of Cigarette Smoking on Haematological Parameters in Healthy Libyans

:Abstract

Smoking causes about 6 million deaths annually, increases the risk for many diseases and alters hematological parameters. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the negative impact of cigarette smoking on the hematological parameters of healthy smokers in Libya. A total of 145 smokers and 145 non-smokers, with age range 39-45 years, were recruited. Blood samples were collected from each participant and were analysed for complete blood count. The obtained results were statically analysed using descriptive statistics and ANOVA. The mean for all study variables for smokers (except for MCHC) was greater than that for nonsmokers. The coefficient of variation (CV%) showed that the smokers group was more homogeneous for most variables than the non-smokers group, except for BMI and LYMP. The results of ANOVA test showed that only in the case of MCHC the non-smokers had a significantly higher mean (p < 0.05). For other variables, the smokers had significantly higher means (p < 0.05), except for the RBC, where the mean was non-significantly higher compared to the non-smokers. There was no statistically significant effect for the age variable or for the interaction between smoking and age on all variables. In conclusion, the study revealed that cigarette smoking has a significant impact on most haematological parameters; confirming that smoking has severe adverse effects on most haematological parameters
