Abstract

Ontologies to describe the basic contents of different information sources has become the key issue to intelligent retrieval and access of information.

Ontologies, as an explicit specification, are widely used in many applications to support the semantics and to provide a richer model of reality. Domain Ontology as an emerging new discipline has a great potential in providing such explicit specification to knowledge model.

A knowledge representation system based on Description Logic is able to perform specific kinds of reasoning and usually focused on methods for providing high-level descriptions of the world that can be effectively used to build intelligent applications.

A Description Logic reasoner performs various inferencing services, such as computing the inferred super classes of a class, determining whether or not a class is consistent. Some techniques of the popular Description Logic reasoners available are as RACER , FaCT, FaCT++, and Pellet.

In this paper, we mainly use the term "description logic" (DL) as a formal language for the representation knowledge and reasoning about the domain of interest ' Tommor Domain '.

Key Words : Ontologies, knowledge model, description logic reasoners, inferencing services , intelligent applications , Tommor Domain

History is the sum total of human experience in civilization، culture، and the city. Civilization in terms of politics، ethics، and legislation is the organizational force of history، culture in terms of science، literature، and art is the creative force of history، and the city in terms of agriculture، industry، and architecture is the commodity material force of history، In fact، the human fondness for knowing what happened in the past has been associated with the aspiration not only to know what happened، but also why and how it happened. The idea of history for any human group is in fact a form of this group's understanding of its own identity، and the development of historical knowledge has remained connected to the development of human knowledge in general and scientific knowledge in particular.

Frederick Hegel commented that the basic field of history is life in its temporal extension on earth. Historians have differed in their perceptions of historical time، and their theories have varied with regard to presenting their view of the course of this time as a whole، The most famous of them are the realization of the will of God، as in the case of St. Augustine، the evolution towards a free society، as in the case of Friedrich Hegel، the realization of a classless society، as in the case of Karl Marx، or the civilizational cycle، as in the case of Abd al-Rahman Ibn Khaldun، Battista Vico، Oswald Spengler، Arnold Toynbee، and many others.

Evaluation of Knowledge on Complete Denture Fabrication: A CrossSectional Study among Fourth-Year Dental Students at Gharyan University
Journal Article

Abstract

Complete dentures remain an essential treatment option for edentulous patients, especially in regions where implant-supported prostheses are limited. Successful prosthodontic outcomes require systematic execution of clinical steps, including patient examination, impression taking, custom tray fabrication, jaw relation recording, try-in, and post-insertion management. This study aimed to assess the knowledge of complete denture fabrication among fourth-year dental students. A descriptive cross-sectional design was employed among 37 students (94.9% response rate) enrolled in 2024 at the Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Gharyan University. Data were collected using a validated, self-administered questionnaire covering patient assessment, primary and final impressions, custom tray design, jaw relation records, occlusal plane orientation, articulator use, try-in procedures, and post-insertion care, and analyzed descriptively.

All students (100%) reported performing histories, oral examinations, primary impressions with alginate, and centric relation registration. Knowledge gaps were observed in advanced procedures: 75.7% selected light-cure acrylic for custom trays, awareness of spacers, stops, and relief holes was limited, polyvinylsiloxane was the most frequently used final impression material (62.2%), yet 59.5% disinfected impressions improperly with water alone. None used a face bow or semi-adjustable articulators, relying solely on non-adjustable types. Students demonstrated solid foundational knowledge of basic procedures; however, deficiencies in custom tray design, post-palatal seal determination, impression disinfection, and articulator use indicate a need for enhanced clinical teaching and practical training to meet current prosthodontic standards.

Keywords. Complete Denture, Dental Students, Prosthodontics, Impression Technique.

Modeling and Designing H∞ & LQG Controllers for Bi-Rotor Helicopter Model
Conference paper

Abstract— In order to better control the 3-DOF helicopter model, this work is constructed to fulfill and satisfy high performance requirements while taking robustness, reference tracking, and actuator effort into consideration. As a result, the helicopter model dynamics were modeled and shown in a state-space for the first time utilizing the system identification technique. MATLAB was used to identify, design, and simulate the H∞ controller for the nonlinear system. This ideal controller, known as LQG (Linear Quadratic Gaussian), was created, modeled, and applied to the actual model for the nonlinear system using MATLAB. Both controllers' outcomes were displayed. An explanation of the fundamental distinctions between the H∞ controller and the LQG controller is also provided.

Keywords— H∞ controller, LQG controller, 3-DOF helicopter model, MATLAB/SIMULINK

Qualitative Analysis Of Active Materials In Date Samples And Determination Of Their Essential Components
Journal Article

Abstract:

The present study concentrated on samples of Libyan dates procured from the markets in Gharyan City. A series of qualitative analyses were conducted in order to assess the content of their active ingredient, with a particular focus on antioxidants. The qualitative identification of tannins, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, and resins (utilised as tanning agents) was conducted utilising standard reagents such as Dragendorff's, Fehling's, and Benedict's, in conjunction with date extracts. The analyses confirmed the presence of all these compounds in the samples. Furthermore, quantitative assessments of the fundamental components of the date samples were conducted. The procedure entailed the quantification of fibre, carbohydrates, protein, fat, and ash content. Furthermore, the moisture content and the ratio of pits to fruit were evaluated in all samples. The assessment employed a kiln, a Kjeldahl apparatus, and other requisite equipment to determine the caloric values of each sample. The findings indicated variations in the fundamental components and energy content among the samples, likely attributable to various factors and conditions.

Challenges of E-Examination Adoption and the Role of Block chain in Enhancing Security and Trust: A Field Study at the Faculty of Science, Gharyan– Libya
Journal Article

In recent years, higher education has witnessed a significant shift toward digital environments, with e-exams becoming an essential tool for academic assessment due to their speed, efficiency, and reduced administrative burdens. However, the adoption of e-exams in Libyan educational institutions, particularly at the Faculty of Science in Gharyan, still faces challenges stemming from technical, organizational, and human factors. This study aimed to explore the main challenges hindering the implementation of e-exams and analyze the potential role of blockchain technology in enhancing security and reliability. A descriptive methodology was employed, with data collected through a questionnaire distributed to faculty members. Results revealed that the most significant barriers included weak ICT infrastructure, a lack of administrative and technical support, and the absence of reliable and user-friendly e-exam systems. Additional challenges included unclear policies, a lack of awareness of the benefits of e-exams, and concerns about cheating and technical glitches. On the other hand, individual factors, such as resistance to change and the difficulty of designing e-exams, showed a relatively smaller impact. The findings highlight the need for stronger infrastructure, ongoing training, and clear institutional policies as prerequisites for the successful adoption of e-exams. Furthermore, the integration of blockchain technology offers a promising solution by ensuring consistent exam records, secure student identity verification, and transparent assessment processes. The study concludes that developing more reliable and effective e-assessment systems in Libya requires collaboration between technical and Libyan educational institutions, with blockchain technology considered a strategic option for enhancing trust and security in higher education.

Performance Analysis of Free Space Optics Communication System in Challenging Environments Based on OOK Modulation & MIMO
Conference paper

Free-space optical communication (FSO) is an innovative technology that uses light rays to transmit data over the air, providing a wireless alternative to traditional cables. However, the performance of this system is greatly affected by severe weather conditions such as fog, rain, humidity, and atmospheric turbulence, which degrade the quality of communication and pose challenges that require precise solutions. This paper aims to analyze the impact of these environmental factors on the performance of the FSO system using three main criteria: the bit error rate (BER) to evaluate the accuracy of data transmission, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to assess the quality of communication, and the total attenuation induced by each atmospheric condition to quantify its effect on signal degradation. The On-Off Keying (OOK) modulation technique was adopted due to its simplicity and widespread use in optical communication systems. Using MATLAB, simulation models representing different weather scenarios were employed to analyze the performance of the FSO system under varying environmental conditions. The effects of atmospheric changes on system behavior are studied and evaluated to gain a deeper understanding of its operation and limitations. Also, in this paper a further enhancement is introduced to the system by integrating Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology to improve its performance under challenging conditions as a solution.
