Participation of the Office of Women’s Support and Empowerment at Gharyan University, represented by Dr. Ibtisam Al-Dhabea, in the first meeting of directors of Women’s Support and Empowerment Offices at universities, institutions, and the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies.Tuesday, July 7, 2026The Office of Women’s Support and Empowerment at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held its first meeting on Tuesday morning with directors of Women’s Support and Empowerment Offices at universities, institutions, and the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies, attended by several office directors and representatives of educational institutions.This meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among Women’s Support and Empowerment Offices in higher education institutions and unify visions regarding their mechanisms of work, thereby contributing to improving performance and activating their role in serving the academic community.The meeting included a dialogue session addressing the reality of women in the higher education sector and the difficulties and challenges they face. Several perspectives and proposals were presented to enhance women’s participation in various academic and administrative fields and to create a supportive work environment that empowers them and develops their capacities.The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and communication among Women’s Support and Empowerment Offices, and the need to implement joint programs and initiatives that strengthen the role of women in higher education and scientific research institutions, contributing to the achievement of the ministry’s goals in this field.
