| Gharyan University’s Participation in the First Quality Forum for Libyan Universities |


The Director of the Office of Quality and Performance Evaluation at Gharyan University took part in the First Quality Forum for Libyan Universities, held on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The event was organized by the Open University of Libya in collaboration with the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions, under the theme “Effective Educational Institutions within a Framework of Sustainable Accreditation.”


The forum’s opening was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Imran Al-Qeeb; the Director General of the National Center for Quality Assurance, Dr. Rajab Al-Akashi; the President of the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies; ministry department heads; university presidents; directors of quality offices; and a distinguished group of experts in academic quality and accreditation, as well as directors of higher and intermediate institutes.


The event began with a welcome speech by the Director of the National Center for Quality Assurance, followed by remarks from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who emphasized the role of quality and accreditation as a cornerstone for advancing university education and achieving competitiveness both locally and internationally.


Throughout the forum, a series of lectures and scientific papers were presented, covering topics such as the integration of academic accreditation and internal quality assurance, quality management in educational institutions, digital transformation in administration and education, strategic planning in higher education institutions, institutional governance and its role in sustaining accreditation, governance in medical education—challenges and solutions, capacity building and institutional sustainability, and artificial intelligence and its relationship with quality and accreditation systems in higher education.
