The Faculty of Medicine marks the International Day Against Drug Abuse with an educational scientific seminar

As part of its participation in global efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs, the Faculty of Medicine organized a special event on Sunday, June 29, 2025, to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse. The event brought together a distinguished group of faculty members, students, and guests from various public and private sectors, under the theme: "Breaking the Chains — Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery."

The seminar featured scientific presentations delivered by professors, students, and guest lecturers, exploring the multidimensional nature of drug addiction—medical, psychological, social, and legal. It also included local and international statistics highlighting the prevalence and impact of drugs on individuals and society.

Presentations shed light on common types of drugs, methods of prevention and treatment, and the role of educational institutions in promoting awareness among university youth.

The event was met with enthusiastic engagement, as attendees actively participated in discussions and asked insightful questions, enriching the seminar’s content. Organizers emphasized that hosting such initiatives reflects the faculty’s responsibility to foster public health awareness and encourage students to play a meaningful role in addressing national and global health issues.
