On the morning of Sunday 15, 2025, Gharyan University hosted Professor Widad Al-Dwini, Deputy Minister of Culture, in an official meeting attended by:

- Prof. Dr. Saleh Qashout – University President  

- Dr. Ali Al-Fiqi – Vice President for Scientific Affairs  

- Mr. Mohammed Al-Aswad – Director of Gharyan Radio  

- Dr. Ibtisam Omar Al-Dubai – Faculty Member at the College of Arts  

During the meeting, participants discussed prospects for collaboration between Gharyan University and the Ministry of Culture, focusing on organizing a major book fair in Gharyan, covering the western region. The initiative aims to strengthen the university’s role as a knowledge center and academic hub while reinforcing Gharyan’s status as the capital of the mountain region and a city of science and culture.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish a formal partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Gharyan University to enhance cultural cooperation and activate initiatives that benefit both the university and the local community.
