Regular Meeting of the Committee for Supervision and Monitoring of the Quality of Scientific Journals at Gharyan University

As part of the ongoing efforts exerted by the Committee for Supervision and Monitoring of the Quality of Scientific Journals at Gharyan University to elevate the scientific journals issued by the university and to strengthen their commitment to the highest standards of academic and research publishing, the regular meeting of the committee was held this morning, Thursday, May 7, 2026, with the attendance of all its members and the editors-in-chief of the university’s journals, at the meeting hall of the General Administration of Gharyan University, at exactly eleven o’clock noon.  


The meeting addressed a number of important topics related to the development of scientific journals and the enhancement of their quality performance, most notably:  

- Reviewing the regulations and requirements for the continuity of scientific journals, along with updating publishing standards and mechanisms to align with modern academic criteria and indexing and classification requirements.  

- Following up on the procedures of the scientific journal applying for the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), and reviewing the latest updates related to that.  

- Discussing the reformation of the editorial board and advisory board of Gharyan University Journal of Humanities, in a way that supports editorial efficiency and enhances the quality of scientific outputs.  

- Agreeing on the implementation of several actions and procedures that would contribute to accelerating the registration and indexing processes of the scientific journals issued by Gharyan University in accredited scientific databases and platforms.  

- Redistributing tasks and responsibilities among the committee members to ensure improved performance and the achievement of desired goals.  


At the conclusion of the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing joint work and ongoing coordination between committees and editorial boards, in a manner that contributes to strengthening the standing of Gharyan University’s journals at the academic and research levels. The meeting was adjourned at exactly one o’clock in the afternoon.
